MACRO 2008, Polymers at Frontiers of Science and Technology

IUPAC 42nd World Polymer Congress

The IUPAC-sponsored 42nd World Polymer Congress, “Macro 2008”, will be held from June 29 to July 4, 2008 at the Taipei International Convention Center. The theme of the event is “Polymers at Frontiers of Science and Technology” and will be comprised of 10 “traditional” symposia:

1. Polymer Chemistry
2. Polymer Physics
3. Polymer Processing
4. Nanostructured Polymeric Materials
5. Advances in Bio-Related Polymers
6. Polymers in Optics, Electronics, and Opto-electronics
7. Environmentally Benign Polymers
8. Polymer Membranes
9. Polymer Composites and Blends
10. Polymer Education

In addition to the above, there will be several new events in Macro 2008. These include an IUPAC-DSM Performance Materials Symposium (and the corresponding Award), the IUPAC-Polymer International Award and a Young Polymer Scientists symposium organized by the Polymer Division.
